Should The World Fail To Fall Apart (chosen as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek title as Murphy honestly wasn’t sure a solo career would work for him) emerged as a montage of sorts, with several guest musicians brought in for various tracks, embracing the revolving door ethos, resulting in Murphy and Hughes stitching the pieces together. The album would include two covers, The Light Pours Out Of Me (originally by Magazine) would be the first released by way of a various artists Beggars Banquet compilation: One Pound Ninety Nine. The second was a stunning take on Pere Ubu’s cult classic Final Solution, which would shortly be chosen as the debut solo single, released in November of 1985. Final Solution would also receive music video treatment with Beyhan Murphy reprising her earlier role as choreographer and producer as she had originally with Peter’s first foray into dance following Bauhaus’s demise. However, even with the lead single solidified, the album itself would not see release for almost another year.
