On Pascal Gabriel:

I’m very happy that I worked with Pascal Gabriel, the producer. He’s one of the most hard working — not only hard working — but his enthusiasm for his work is so vital. He’s got a very innocent quality about him with great skill which I really like and empathize with. And he brought that purity to the album which made Paul Statham able to express himself more musically, actually, on the record and helped me to translate a lot of ideas which, inevitably, I have to do as a singer/vocalist and songwriter/lyric writer. I’m not really a musician. My musicality is in that definition. When it comes down to actually building the backdrop I often say I’m a Michael Stripe or a Bono without their band behind them. You know, I have to support that strength of mine with just as strong music somehow without the ability to actually execute it personally. A producer is very crucial in that respect.
